Spartanburg Humane Society
I am a volunteer for one of the greatest animal shelters in this country!
I continue to be amazed every day at the love and attention that is showered on
our four-legged friends at the Spartanburg Humane Society. We have such a great
network of volunteers, headed up by Amy Freeman, an employee of the shelter.
She works so hard along with all of the other employees at the humane society to
make sure that our furry friends are as comfortable and loved as can possibly be
and have as much good input into their lives to make their experience of being
placed in a new home more enjoyable, both for the animal and the adopting
family. I want to thank everyone at the Spartanburg Humane Society for your
very hard work and for allowing us, as volunteers, to be such a special part of
that!

Good News to Share
I moved to South Carolina from Calif. 3 years ago Oct. I fell in love
with down town Greenville my first vist when my friends flew me out to "fluff
up there home" I am an interior designer. Long story short, since I have been
here I have little to no work. I have always had a full work load in Ca. I
moved here and people did not know who I was or what I did. I sent before and
after photos of my home here in the up state to AT HOME magazine, Lynn the
editor came out to my home to meet me and liked what she saw. I was featured in
15 pages. The flood gates opened!!! Lynn emailed me to tell me that my article
was the best response that they have ever had from an article.

Month before that the I was living in panic! Friends were coming to my home and
bringing me food! Now I am in a position where I have paid off bills and i can
give back. Giving is a better feeling for me then recieving! I am grateful!!!!!

I will also be featured on Rate My Space on HGTV on Sat. the 15th.
God is opening my doors in his time and like I said I am GRATETFUL!!!!

THE WESTIN POINSETT HOTEL NAMED “CONSISTENT PERFORMER OF THE YEAR” BY INTERSTATE HOTELS & RESORTS
The Westin Poinsett Hotel, centrally located in the heart of downtown Greenville, SC, was recently recognized as “Consistent Performer of the Year” for 2008 by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the nation’s largest independent operator of full and select-service hotels.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts manages and operates 224 hotels and approximately 46,000 rooms in 37 states, the District of Columbia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Mexico and Russia. The company carefully selects one property each year for the “Consistent Performer Award” based on various criteria including achievement in overall revenue, profit, guest satisfaction and associate opinion survey results for three consecutive years.

“We are very proud of this achievement, as it recognizes the hard work and commitment of our entire staff on an ongoing basis. To consistently exceed results instills confidence in our guests that our service is reliable,” said Fabian Unterzaucher, general manager of The Westin Poinsett Hotel. “Without the contributions of our associates, the continued support of our local community and business partners, we would not have been able to achieve this prestigious honor.”

The hotel was also nominated in the following award categories: Best Accounting Department, Best General Manager and Highest Guest Satisfaction Scores.

Constructed by W.L Stoddard in 1925, The Westin Poinsett Hotel boasts historic 1920’s elegance and charm paired with renovated facilities. As the only four-diamond full service hotel in the Upstate of South Carolina, guests will enjoy quality service and an unbeatable location. They are just blocks away from over 100 shops and restaurants as well as The Peace Center for the Performing Arts, Falls Park on the Reedy River, and the Bi-Lo Center. Offering 200 guestrooms, its historic heritage is reflected in the meticulously restored interiors, designed to capture the original architecture and offer modern-day amenities.
